I have always loved making people laugh and performing. When I moved to Chicago after college, it was with the intent of performing and honing my comedy skills at any and all of the famous Improv institutions in the city. While I did attend Second City, I soon discovered that my love for Improv Comedy had diminished somewhat since college, and I was pulled more by my love for the written word, be it screenplays, short stories, poetry, music, or sketch.
First Day of School was a sketch group founded by a bunch of my friends from college that exclusively performed themed sketch shows in the city for a number of years, which are some of my fondest, most absurd memories. We, like many comedy writers in the city and abroad, believed in creating from abundance, so there were tons of sketches written that never made it to the stage. Below are samples of some of those sketches, and some of the more crafted and workshopped sketches that were performed live. I hope that you enjoy reading and get a sense of my style of comedy.
If you are in need of a writer for a sketch show, I would be more than happy to contribute!
